ABOUT US

We are a vibrant, friendly Anglican church meeting in the heart of Roby. Our vision is to be a church which is Growing, Serving and Giving. You would be really welcome to come and meet us and find out more about what we do here. We have services on Sundays at 9am and 11am (do check our online diary in case of occasional changes). We also have a 10:30am service on the first Wednesday of every month except August. We have lots of other activities going on during the week – please have a good look around the website, or get in touch, to find out more.

WEDDINGS

If you've just got engaged and you're looking for somewhere to get married (firstly, congratulations!) - we would love to talk to you about the possibility of getting married at St Bart's Church.

Give us a call, drop us an email, or contact us through the website to start the conversation.

We ask those getting married to attend a Marriage Preparation Course prior to your special day.

BAPTISMS

At St. Bart’s we offer thanksgiving services and baptisms (often called christenings) for children and adults. Please get in touch with us to talk about having a thanksgiving or baptism service here.

Give us a call, drop us an email, or contact us through the website to start the conversation.

We ask those being baptised (or those responsible for them!) to attend preparation classes.

We also carry out confirmation services so contact us if you're interested in that too!

FUNERALS

We're sorry for your loss and understand that this can be a very difficult time. There are lots of practical things to sort and we would be happy to support you and put you in touch with the right people.

If you haven't already, make sure you contact a Funeral Director who will be able to guide you through the process. If you would like to hold your service in the church or would like one of our ministers to lead the service let the Funeral Director know. A date will be arranged that suits all involved and the minister taking the service will get in touch to arrange visiting and planning the service.

Give us a call, drop us an email, or contact us through the website to start the conversation.

GENEROSITY CHALLENGE

In 2020 St Bart's Church reached a milestone in its history having stood in Church Road for 170 years serving the local community. The building is in need of urgent repair and renovation, and in 2021 we launched an ambitious three year Generosity Challenge and plan to raise £90,000 by pledges and donations.

Together with Gift Aid we hope to secure matched grants to enable us to do the vital repair and renovation work of our Grade 2 listed building.

The aim of this appeal is to honour the past, serve the present, and provide for the future – to have a safe and welcoming building as we continue as a church to Grow, Serve and Give.

We know that this is a big ask and only by working together can we realise our ambition.

Our ask is this:

170 people to pledge £170 annually for the next three years

If you are a taxpayer, Gift Aid adds an extra £42.50 making that pledge a total of £212.50

How you can pledge:

The easiest way is to click The link below to our Just Giving page where you can make monthly and one-off donations. Please leave us your email details so that we can thank you for your support.

If you would like to ask a question about this appeal then please do get in contact with us.

Safe Spaces

Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused through their relationship with either the Church of England, Church in Wales or the Catholic Church of England and Wales.

Safe Spaces comprises a team of trained support advocates, who have undergone specialist training in supporting survivors of sexual violence and who have received additional specific training in how the churches respond to abuse cases, the way in which faith and church-related settings have been used to carry out abuse, and the particular issues affecting people who have had or still have, a relationship with the church.

The service is for those who may have experienced any form of abuse, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, financial abuse, psychological abuse (including spiritual abuse), domestic abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour.
